Indian Aussies is a celebration of the more than 300,000 Australians of Indian origin and their successes…
Peter Varghese AO, Australian High Commissioner to India
Following the success of the All of Us touring exhibition to India in 2009, The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade commissioned Egg Digital to produce a further multimedia project featuring portraits of 85 Indians living in Australia.
The 2metre tall exhibition portraits formed the basis of another touring exhibition to India beginning in December 2010 and which is continuing through the early part of 2012. The exhibition was again launched in New Delhi at the Australian High Commission and then began a series of exhibitions across major Indian cities.
The photos formed the basis of a website, a blog, a brochure, an exhibition catalogue and some press advertising materials. Video interviews with eight of the participants were also included on the website and also on the Department of Business and Innovation’s Study Melbourne website.
The Victorian Government also used the works for two exhibitions in Melbourne culminating at Federation Square where they were the backdrop to the Premier’s launch of the Government’s official India policy.
